Microsoft and partners unveils the newest techie toy.  And boy is it good.  Meet the “ultracompact computer,” a full computer that is the size of a paperback book.  For $600-$1,000, we will soon be able to own a computer that weighs only 2.5 pounds, and has a 60 gig hard drive.  Oooh, I can’t wait.  I’ve been wanting a new portable DVD player (mine broke after many trips to the gym), and I’m now thinking that this is what will replace it.  And Palm Pilots.  This computer has a touch screen, so you can enter information by writing on it, just like Palms.  It also has a “built-in program called Dial Keys that splits a standard QWERTY keyboard into pie shapes on the lower corners of the screen so that input can typed — or thumbed in.”  Can anyone tell I’m really excited?
